Land Acknowledgement

We host our events the unceded lands of the lək̓ʷəŋən People, known today as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations & thank them for their stewardship, care and leadership of these lands in the past, present and future. It’s critically important that we, especially as queers, acknowledge that as uninvited settlers we are actively implicated in settler colonialism and it is our collective responsibility to change that.

What we’re about

Feeling Fruity is a queer meetup group that focuses on chill, low pressure events that don’t revolve around alcohol. We aim to keep most of our events free to attend, without RSVPs required, to allow for the most accessibility for everyone in our community. This is a space for queer women, trans, non-binary, two-spirit & other queer identities. If you identify as queer, you are welcome here. If you are a queer cis man, we encourage you to recognize this space is for others in the community that don’t have as many safe spaces to gather and recognize the privilege you hold within the community.

Your Host

Hi, I’m Lynn. I’m your host for these events, so I thought I’d give you a little insight into who I am and what I’m about! I use she / her pronouns, and I’m a white transgender queer lesbian. I’ve hosted events in so called ‘Toronto’ & ‘Vancouver’, and find it to be one of the most fulfilling, important things I can offer to the collective. Plus.. it fills my little extroverted cup in a way few other things can. I love bringing people together!

Other interests of mine outside of organizing are astrology, tarot, cooking as a love language, video games as the industry I work in, writing, photography, painting, sustainable living, relationship psychology and generally just being a social butterfly when my body allows.

If you ever see me out and about, and I’m at a lot of events, come say hello! I can’t wait to meet you all at my own events, and throughout the city at all the wonderful groups and events that already exist. See you out there!
